Mobile Impact is seeking multiple Senior Engineers to define integration paths of LTE network systems, gateways, and data elements for a Tier 1 network. The position will include definition of network architecture and the evaluation of OEM equipment and roadmaps. Additionally, the candidate will support the integration of new IP data network elements into existing systems and will architect in new elements for future network upgrades and next generation network evolution.

Skill and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in related technical field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering, Communications technologies)
  • Minimum 15 years of network and systems engineering experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and strong client interaction skills
  • Ability to document and write engineering requirements and specifications
  • Background in CDMA and LTE specifications
  • Knowledge of IP systems and protocols
  • Experience working with the different functional groups across multiple network engineering groups and vendor engineers and representatives
  • Deep knowledge of wireless data systems and network architecture
  • Experience across a variety of functional disciplines including RF, protocol, firmware, software, and functional levels
  • Experience with development and refinement product and service requirements
  • Experience with LTE wireless networks and equipment
  • Experience with device, network, and end-to-end test and verification
  • Experience working with network equipment vendors
  • Must have excellent documentation and communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills to identify network element and systems performance issues
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications


  • Develop architectures for the evolution of wireless data systems including base-stations, gateways, IP routers, authentication, and provisioning systems
  • Work with OEM equipment providers to define and deliver needed network functionality
  • Plan the integration of new network elements and work with engineering implementation teams to deploy the new elements
  • Work with Client test and design teams to integrate necessary test strategy updates, test parameters, network design elements and to define/refine and deploy test processes
  • Develop, refine, and document network element requirements and manage requirements across multiple equipment vendors
  • Evaluate system performance results, identify issues and root causes of network problems or performance bottlenecks, and work with appropriate groups and vendors to resolve identified issues
  • Support product management groups and marketing groups in the definition of product and service requirements as well as their supporting business cases
  • Work with the device groups and application developers to integrate network element requirements and performance goals
  • Provide regular reports on progress of the work and maintain detailed records of all activity
